In the context of our social policy engagement, FoodServiceEurope has recently endorsed BusinessEurope’s position paper on the European Pillar of Social Rights. While FoodServiceEurope also recognises and supports the need for increased convergence of the EU/EMU, we too believe the sole focus on ‘social rights’ is not the right approach at EU level. Today, FoodServiceEurope took part in the Seminar of the European Employers’ Network, where these views were again presented by BusinessEurope to Michel Servoz, the European Commission Director-General of DG EMPL. This was also an occasion to further discuss among participants the state of play and future of the European Social Dialogue taking into account both cross-industry and sector specific interests in light of key developments in social policy at EU level.

FoodServiceEurope is the employer organization for the contract catering industry within the framework of the European sectoral Social Dialogue and very much welcomes this debate.
